Quotes I Love, Reflections

Sweet solitude

Darkness of the night,

a heavy downpour outside,

quietness and some music.

Sweet, sweet solitude,

where do you hide in the day?

Is it the light?

or the bustle of people?

too much activity?

Seeing too many people at the mall today,

I just needed to stay awake,

simply

doing nothing.

Just being.

Watching a ray of light from a far away street light

getting refracted in the window.

Closing one eye and watching it.

Listening completely

to the simple beats, simple words.

When you do a lot and then

contrast it with doing nothing,

you understand how the world works.

Like day and night.

Activity and rest.

But rest doesn’t necessarily mean sleeping,

sometimes it’s staying awake,

watching a refracting light

and doing nothing

but feeling the sweetness of solitude.

~ ~ ~ ~

You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.
