Standing outside the gate
of her cousin’s college,
waiting,
for her class to get over,
waiting,
waiting…
She leaned ahead
on the Activa’s speedometer
as she put on her headphones..
And switched on to
a whole another world..
and she could now see…
The dark brown rough bark of the tree
she was standing under…
Looking up, she smiled,
whispering a ‘thank you’
for the cool shade
she was standing under..
Tiny black ants
working hard and
goin and coming
don’t know where..
A squirrel running
on the wall
and eating something
don’t know what..
Few parrots on a tree
flying around
coming back..
The canopy of the green trees
all around..
The coolness
even when the sun dazzled..
Feeling amused
looking at this
whole another world…
How free are they all
the trees
the squirrel
the parrots
the ants
the sun
free…without any worries..
Glancing back on the road
vehicles and cars passed
every now and then..
and look at us, humans,
worrying about the past
about the future
hiding behind the smiles,
always in a hurry
to reach somewhere
dunno where…
dunno why..
dunno how..
just then
a song started playing
and her smile widened..
how apt!
and how beautiful!
Heavy hung the canopy of blue..
Shade my eyes and I can see you..
White is the light that shines through the dress that you wore..
She lay in the shadow of the wave..
Hazy were the visions of her playing..
Sunlight on her eyes but moonshine made her blind every time..
Green is the color of her kind..
Quickness of the eye deceives the mind..
Envy is the bond between the hopeful and the damned..
Those 20 minutes of waiting…
and a glimpse in another world..
sooooo beautiful
and serene..
Thank you, Mother Nature,
once again I feel blessed and alive
so serene and refreshed,
like everytime..
